Employee Insurance Login Information
eBenefits
eBenefits (Benefit Focus) is the system where you can enroll, change and update your State Health Plan and NCFlex Plans selections. You can also access State Health Plan and NCFlex resources such as finding a provider, viewing claims information or your explanation of benefits and ordering new ID cards.
Using preferred browsers (Chrome or Firefox), click the button below and enter your NinerNET credentials. You may also download the eBenefits Mobile App from your mobile phone.
UNC System Benefits (Empyrean)
This is the system where you can enroll, change and update elections for Group Term Life insurance, Voluntary AD&D, Cancer and Specified Disease, and Critical Illness plans. Please note, the first time you log into the UNC System Benefits portal, you will see a message with the terms of use. Each time you log in, you will see that message until you review and click the “I agree” option at the end of the message.
For additional assistance regarding the enrollment system please contact the University of North Carolina Benefits Service Center For Employees at 833-UNC-1490 (833-862-1490). Employees will be required to provide their employee ID number for security purposes.
Please note: UNC Charlotte data is sent on Mondays and Wednesdays to the UNC Benefits System (Empyrean). New hire records cannot be setup until after an employee's start date. If new hires receive a single sign on (SSO) error, it may be a timing issue. Employees are advised to login a few days after their hire date and notify the University of North Carolina Benefits Service Center for Employees at 833-UNC-1490 (833-862-1490) if they have any further login issues.

- Reference "Everything you Need to Create and Manage Your Accounts" to obtain and complete a form to open a 529 Plan.

- Send the agreement form to the contact on the form
- Provide the Benefits Office a copy (reference for https://hr.charlotte.edu/benefits for methods to upload documentation)
- Verify payroll deduction changes on your paycheck and notify the Benefits Office (Benefits@charlotte.edu / 704-687-8134) of any discrepancies
