Human Resources has received multiple inquiries regarding employees’ desires to update their phone numbers from work numbers to personal numbers in Aetna accounts. Learn more in this announcement.

Information was recently shared by the North Carolina State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees about salary-based premiums for the 2026 plan year. Learn more about this announcement.

Open enrollment is Oct. 13-31, 2025 for the 2026 plan year.

Student workers:

  • Hired and reported as part-time variable hour
  • Hours are not to exceed:
    • 29 hours per week for undergraduate students (domestic and permanent residents)
    • 25 hours per week for graduate students (domestic and permanent residents) — Up to 20 hours can be on Graduate Assistantships
    • 20 hours per week for international students
  • If averaging full-time (30+ hours per week) over measurement periods, offered the High Deductible Health Plan

Temporary faculty (FTE calculated – 3 work hours for every credit hour):

  • FTE .75+ (cumulative of all jobs) or measured full-time, offered the High Deductible Health Insurance

Temporary hourly workers (eligibility based on FTE, regardless of duration of appointment)

  • FTE .75+ (cumulative of all jobs) or measured full-time, offered the High Deductible Health Insurance

Temporary salaried workers (regardless of the FTE)

  • Reported as full-time & offered the High Deductible Health Insurance
