Details and Timeline

The performance appraisal program provides tools and resources to help both supervisors and employees set meaningful performance goals and promote more ongoing dialogues regarding these goals. It also includes policy standards for evaluating performance so that ratings are applied fairly and consistently across organizational units. The annual performance cycle runs from July 1 to June 30 the following year. The employee’s goals and objectives plan contains individual goals for the employee set by the supervisor and institutional goals set by the UNC General Administration.

Who needs to be appraised?

Any employee who is in an EHRA status as of the first full week in January, of the current cycle, needs to receive an EHRA Appraisal for the current performance cycle which begins July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year.

What should I know about the EHRA Non-Faculty appraisals?

The Regulations on Annual Performance Appraisals for EHRA Non-Faculty now requires the use of a standard performance appraisal instrument which includes an overall performance rating of not meeting expectations, meeting expectations or exceeding expectations.

When is the appraisal due?

All appraisals are due in NinerTalent by June 30.

How can the EHRA Non-Faculty Appraisal instrument be accessed and completed?

For the performance cycle that runs from 2024-2025, the EHRA Non-Faculty Appraisal will be available to complete in the NinerTalent Portal on Monday, April 1.

How should I document performance goals for the new cycle?

The goals and objectives are now included in the process steps in the 2025-26 EHRA-NF Staff Performance Appraisal program. The goals and objectives will be available for employees on April 1, 2025 and are due June 16, 2025, for management review. The EHRA Goals & Objectives Plan – Google Form (optional) is still available for use; however it is expected that the plan will be entered in NinerTalent by the employee and approved by the supervisor.
