SHRA 2025-26 Appraisal Cycle Officially Underway

Categories: General News

Appraisal season is here! We kicked it off with the self-appraisal and are rolling into the next step where supervisors initiate their employee’s evaluations beginning April 1. There are several key actions and system updates will take place over the coming weeks. Please review the information below to ensure a smooth and timely process for you and your SHRA employees.

Annual Appraisals (2025-26 Cycle)

  • Supervisor appraisals open April 1: Supervisors may begin drafting assessments for the 2025–26 performance cycle once the appraisal step opens.
  • Early opening: If an employee submits their self‑appraisal before April 1, the supervisor appraisal will open early.
  • If the Employee Self‑Appraisal is not submitted by March 31: Supervisors will not be able to begin the appraisal. On April 1, supervisors will receive an email from nt-stakes@charlotte.edu asking whether HR should advance the performance program to the supervisor appraisal step.

Probationary Employee Guidance

  • Employees who began employment with the University and State on or after October 1, 2025, are excluded from the annual appraisal cycle.
  • Supervisors must continue completing quarterly probationary reviews using the off‑cycle review program in NinerTalent.
