The Employee Success and Development team strengthens Charlotte’s workplace culture by fostering a supportive, high‑performing and vibrant environment. As part of Human Resources, we connect employees with the resources, recognition, growth and well-being opportunities they need to thrive throughout their career journey.
Key Functions
Our team manages programs and processes designed to keep our workforce motivated and informed:
- Awards and Recognition: Coordinate staff awards and recognition programs to celebrate milestones and excellence across the University.
- Health and Wellness: Manage the employee wellness program and provide guidance on flexible work arrangements to support work-life integration.
- Learning and Organizational Development: Provide individual and organizational learning opportunities to help employees expand their knowledge.
- Performance Management: Oversee the performance management cycle.
- Resource Hub for Employees: Serve as a helpful starting point for employees who have questions or need guidance on navigating HR services or finding the right contact.
Flexible Work
UNC Charlotte recognizes that flexible work arrangements can benefit both the University and our employees by enhancing productivity while providing for workplace flexibility. Though these arrangements are not feasible for all employees, we understand that in many circumstances they can promote employee recruitment, retention, morale, and quality of life; promote general work efficiencies; ensure business continuity; and improve environmental sustainability and space utilization. Volunteer Information
In recognition of the State’s diverse needs for volunteers to support schools, communities, citizens and non-profit organizations while recognizing the commitment of University employees to engage in volunteer service, UNC Charlotte offers eligible employees paid community service leave each year.
Staff Council
The Staff Council exists to strengthen our community and ensure UNC Charlotte is a place where staff feel valued, respected and supported. Its mission is to promote collaboration, celebrate contributions and help create a workplace where everyone can thrive.
