Enhancements Being Made to Position Management Module in NinerTalent

In an effort to better align position action process workflow, enhance data accuracy and streamline the management of position descriptions across the University, human resources is making enhancements to the position management module in NinerTalent. The updates are scheduled to go live on Monday, Dec. 2, and will significantly enhance the capabilities of NinerTalent.

Project Objectives

  • Align SHRA and EHRA position description forms to enable a consistent layout
  • Eliminate unnecessary and/or redundant information
  • Add a FLSA tab to clarify manager intentions as regards requests for exempt designation
  • Align the SHRA and EHRA workflows by enabling a proposal phase for EHRA create new and modify position action requests
  • Align the SHRA and EHRA workflows by enabling an EHRA update action for minor edits, without additional compensation
  • Establish position budget management as the final approver for all SHRA and EHRA create new, modify and some update PD requests (funding source change or extension, FTE change, abolish position)

Project Deliverables

  • Uniform position action request processes for both position designations
  • Uniform appearance of position descriptions for both position designations
  • Formalized proposal process for EHRA create new and modify position action requests to enable proactive consultation between managers and Human Resources
  • Reduced demands on approvers (departmental, divisional, OSPA, PBM) for minor changes to position description (supervisor change, etc.)

  • Please make sure to review any pending position actions within the current position management module before the update takes effect
  • Keep an eye out for further communications regarding training opportunities and additional support resources
  • Future elimination of the PD-7 for EHRA position action requests
