Step Up Niners! Join the Miles for Wellness Challenge Starting Sept. 28
Lace up your walking shoes and get ready to represent UNC Charlotte! The North Carolina Office of State Personnel (OSHR) Miles for Wellness Challenge returns Sept. 28, through Nov.22.
Miles for Wellness is a virtual, team-based walking program designed to help state employees incorporate movement into their daily routine, foster connection with colleagues, and pursue physical wellness together.
How it works
- Team up: Gather a team of up to 10 colleagues or sign up as an individual to be placed on a team.
- Track movement: Log your daily steps—or convert non-walking activities like swimming, cycling or fitness classes into step equivalents using the activity converter.
- Compete across NC: Teams compete against other state agencies and universities in four skill-based divisions (Tortoise, Hare, Super Hare, and Bionic Hare).
- Important dates and details
- Challenge dates: Monday, Sept. 28 through Sunday, Nov. 22
- Registration period: Open now through mid-September
- Who can join: All active UNC Charlotte employees (faculty, staff, temporary workers and retirees are welcome)
Whether you’re taking walking meetings around the greenways, stepping during lunch or hitting the University Recreation Center, every step counts toward our campus goal!
