Charleata Neal serves as the Director of Employee Engagement and Retention. She is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategies and programs to improve employee engagement, cultivating a workplace where employees feel valued, heard, and acknowledged, and bolstering employee morale. These efforts contribute to a more harmonious work environment and improved employee retention rates.

Charleata also leads a team responsible for executing employee engagement initiatives, programs, and projects across the University. These initiatives drive organizational health excellence and include, but are not limited to, performance management, leadership development tools and resources, onboarding, process improvement, employee recognition and rewards, and well-being programs.

Charleata joined UNC Charlotte in June 2017. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia, a Master of Education from Goucher College, and a HRCI PHR certification.
