April supports the day-to-day functions of the department by assisting employees with complaints, grievances, and other workplace issues. She aids supervisors with developing and issuing appropriate communications regarding performance expectations and feedback, including disciplinary actions. She helps all University employees with ADA Accommodations.
April started her career in Human Resources in 2012 and joined UNC Charlotte in 2021 as the Lead Employee Relations Consultant. Prior to working for UNC Charlotte, April worked for nearly a decade for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) District, in its Human Resources (HR) Department. April held several Human Resources positions, that provided support to instructional, non-instructional, and administrators leaders throughout the District.
April holds a bachelor's and master's in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University.
