April Edwards
April supports the day-to-day functions of the department by assisting employees with complaints, grievances and other workplace issues. She aids supervisors with developing and issuing appropriate communications regarding performance expectations and feedback, including disciplinary actions. She helps all University employees with ADA Accommodations.
April started her career in human resources in 2012 and joined UNC Charlotte in 2021 as the lead employee relations consultant. Prior to working for UNC Charlotte, April worked for nearly a decade for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) District, in its human resources department. April held several human resources positions, that provided support to instructional, non-instructional and administrators leaders throughout the district.
April holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in social work from Johnson C. Smith University.
